A little bit about myself.

My name is Eric, and I started investing around late June of 2024. I have 2 siblings, a younger brother who is 19 right now and a younger sister who is 12. I have a full-time occupation running a 30-unit trucking company, so it keeps me super busy, and I tend to get bored easily, so the daily tasks and challenges keep me going. I enjoy work and will continue to work until my patience runs thin... haha. Besides my work life, I don't have much stuff going on. I can honestly say I am a pretty simple person, and I have interests like reading good books, learning about finance, fitness, and spending quality time with family and friends. I actively invest in a total stock market index fund (weekly, every Wednesday I purchase more shares), and I like the idea of being frugal and being happy with not too many materialistic things. After all, we did come into this earth with absolutely nothing. Lol. I was born and raised in Auburn, Washington. I lived there for about 8 years before moving to New Mexico, where we moved in pursuit of a better life. My father moved to New Mexico to start working in the oil industry.

He worked on the oil rigs for about 7 years, which was most of my middle school and high school years. After I graduated, I got my CDL and started driving a tanker truck. My work schedule was 24/7, and many times I would pull 30-hour shifts. I very much wanted to save up some money to start a company... Fast forward 5 years, and we have a stable customer base and stay busy serving oil rigs in their transportation needs. I do find it fun! We took a lot of risks and had very bad days... days we thought we were going to have to quit. Luckily we did not, and here we are today. So anybody that is trying to start and grow a business, know that it is hard... but possible! Sometimes we just have to be patient and prepare for any opportunities that may present themselves. These "opportunities" can sometimes be people, a chance given by somebody that wants to give you a shot, or simply market conditions. Recently, I've developed an interest in investing and also wanted to document my investing journey with the world, so I created this blog to show people that investing doesn't have to be complicated.
